UNIMAID Fed Polytechnic Bauchi Affiliate Matriculates 82 Degree Students : Warns Against Social Vices

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri, Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, has matriculated eighty two students admitted into degree programmes run by Federal Polytechnic Bauchi in affiliation with the University for the 2025/2026 academic session.
Represented at the event, by deputy Vice Chancellor Academic Services, Professor Mohammed Ahmed Waziri said a total of eight two candidates were admitted into one hundred and two hundred level degree programmes through the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination and Direct Entry
He enumerated the matriculated student courses to include B.Sc. Business Administration eight students, B.Sc. Public Administration thirty four, B.Sc. Accounting seven, B.Sc. Mass Communication thirty three
The Vice Chancellor urged the new students to be disciplined, law-abiding, and dedicated to their studies, and warned them to restrain from all forms of vices including cultism, drug abuse, examination misconduct, and violent demonstrations.
Professor Mele described matriculation as a ceremony to formally receive new students into the University.
He commended the Rector of Federal Polytechnic Bauchi for prioritizing staff and students’ welfare, noting that the University is proud to associate with the Polytechnic’s laudable projects and programmes.
Also speaking, the Deputy Rector of Federal Polytechnic Bauchi, Dr. Dalhatu Abubakar, said matriculation is a key requirement for students to become bonafide members of the institution after registration.
He said the ceremony is to educate students that they are in school for a purpose, adding that lecturers now serve as their parents to guide them to become morally upright.
Dr. Abubakar assured that the management will ensure students are trained to serve society academically and morally, and called on the students to respect constituted authority, including lecturers, administrative staff, and their fellow students.
He stressed that the school has zero tolerance for examination malpractice, cultism, indecent dressing, and other social vices.
