UNFPA hands over family planning commodities to Bauchi State Government

Bauchi State Government has received family planning commodities worth 50 million naira from UNFPA towards closing the gaps in family planning, end maternal deaths, gender based violence and other harmful practices across the state.

Handing over the commodities at the state medical store, the gender/reproductive Health and State Programme Officer UNFPA Deborah Tabara said, the handing over ceremony is inline with the national guidelines for state funded procurement of family planning commodities.

Also speaking, the UNFPA representative, Dashed Dasogot thanked Bauchi state government for partnering with them to provide healthcare services to the citizenry.

Dashed urged the recipients to ensure proper management and careful distribution of the commodities to achieve the desired goal.

Receiving the commodities, Bauchi State Commissioner for Health Dr. Sani Mohammed Dambam represented by Pharmacist Abdulkhadir Ahmed , thanked the state Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for approving the release of funds to UNFPA for the procurement of the family planning commodities.

The Commissioner assured to ensure the safety of the commodities and promised to distribute them accordingly.

In his remarks, the Executive Secretary PHCDA Dr Rilwanu Mohammed thanked UNFPA for fulfilling their promises and for training other health workers through capacity building workshops.
