Society of Nigerian Broadcasters holds its second annual conference in Kano State

The Society of Nigerian Broadcasters has held its 2nd Annual Conference, Induction of New Members, and Award Presentation at the Coronation Hall of the Kano Government House.

The conference, which drew broadcast professionals from across the country, focused on the theme “Broadcasting Ethics and Professionalism in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.”

Declaring the event open, the Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, represented by the Director-General, Media and Publicity, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, commended the organisers for choosing Kano to host this year’s gathering.

He also praised the Society for its continued efforts in promoting professionalism and ethical journalism in Nigeria.

The Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, was among those honoured at the event for his commitment to strengthening professional standards in the media industry.

Represented by the Bauchi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Usman Shehu Usman, alongside the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Comrade Mukhtar Gidado, the
Governor appreciated the Society and reaffirmed Bauchi State’s commitment to media reforms, capacity building, and support for journalistic independence.

The conference featured a series of business and technical sessions where experts, regulators, and practitioners discussed key issues affecting the broadcast sector.

Participants also adopted resolutions aimed at repositioning the industry for better credibility and global competitiveness.

A highlight of the event was the formal induction of new members into the Society of Nigerian Broadcasters.

The inductees pledged to uphold professionalism, ethics, and public service.

According to reports, Bauchi State Chapter of the Society attended the conference with a 15-member delegation led by its Chairman, Alhaji Muhammad Inuwa Bello.
