Provost College of Education Azare lauds Governor Bala Muhammed Over implementation of dual mandate

The Provost of the College of Education Azare,, Professor Asabe Sadiya Mohammed, has commended Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, for approving the commencement of dual mandate implementation project in the College.
The Provost stated that the Governor had approved the proposed law for the implementation of the dual mandate to be forwarded for legislative action after undergoing legal review and inputs by the Ministry of Justice, and the bill has since been forwarded to the Bauchi State House of Assembly, where it successfully passed first and second readings, while the third reading is expected to be conducted when the House resumes plenary.
She noted that the development demonstrates the commitment of the State Government towards strengthening tertiary education and aligning the College with the guidelines of the National Commission for Colleges of Education for the concurrent award of NCE and Degree certificates.
The Provost gave the commendation while addressing staff and stakeholders of the institution, describing the development as a major milestone to strengthen the academic excellence.
She described the support and commitment exhibited by the State Government and the State Assembly as a reflection of their determination to reposition tertiary education in Bauchi State in line with national and global best practices.
She explained that the implementation of the dual mandate would strengthen the College’s ability to combine academic excellence with professional teacher training responsibilities, thereby improving service delivery and institutional development.
Professor Asabe Sadiya Mohammed also appreciated the Bauchi State House of Assembly for its legislative support and cooperation in ensuring the successful consideration adding that the House Committee on Education appreciated the support and cooperation extended by College of Education, Zing during the process of reviewing the proposed law.
The Provost further praised Governor Bala Mohammed for his administration’s sustained support to the education sector, particularly in accreditation, infrastructure development, staff welfare, and institutional reforms.
She noted that the College has secured full accreditation for its 27 NCE programmes and 13 undergraduate programmes affiliated to the University of Maiduguri.
