Politician and Human Rights Activists, calls on Nigerians to embrace unity for sustainable national development.

A politician and human rights activist, Dr. Gbenga Olawepo Hashim, has called on Nigerians to embrace unity of purpose as a critical step towards achieving sustainable national development.

Dr. Gbenga Hashim made the call during a condolence visit to the family of the late renowned Islamic scholar and elder statesman, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi.

He described the late Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi as a respected religious leader and a tireless peace builder who dedicated his lifetime to the promotion of peaceful coexistence, tolerance, and national harmony across the country.

According to him, the contributions of the late Islamic scholar to peace and unity remain invaluable and worthy of emulation by both leaders and followers of different faiths.

Dr. Gbenga -Hashim urged the family of the deceased to accept the loss with faith and fortitude, noting that, death is an inevitable part of life.

He prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the late Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi and grant him eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus.

The human rights activist, hopeful, presidential candidate, comes 2027, also advised political leaders across the country to prioritise the creation of employment opportunities for the teeming youth population, stressing that meaningful engagement of young people would help curb restiveness and promote social stability.

Dr. Gbenga added that, inclusive governance, anchored on justice, peace, and economic empowerment, remains key to building a stronger and more united Nigeria.

Responding on behalf of the family, Sheikh Ibrahim Dahiru Usman Bauchi expressed gratitude to Dr. Nbenga Olawepo-Hashim for the condolence visit and described the visit as a demonstration of respect for the legacy of the late Islamic scholar and appreciation for his lifelong commitment to peace, unity, and the propagation of Islamic teachings.

He revealed that Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi lived a fulfilled life devoted to service to God and humanity.

He prayed for Almighty Allah to reward Dr. Gbenga Hashim for the gesture and urged Nigerians to uphold the values of peace and unity preached by the late scholar, and asked Allah to grant the deceased eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus.
