The Nigeria Labour Congress, State Chapter has expressed satisfaction with Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad decision for the approval of payment of seventy thousand naira New National Minimum Wage starting this month of November, twenty-twenty four.
The NLC Chairman, Comrade Dauda Maidara Shuaibu stated this during press conference held at the Medical and Health Workers Union Secretariat Bauchi
He said the purpose of the conference was to brief the general public on the outcome of the negotiations that took place between the organized Labour and government of Bauchi State in relation to the seventy thousand naira New National Minimum Wage act.
Comrade Dauda Maidara Shuaibu recalled that last month the organized Labour formed a committee to interact and bring out workable salary structure where the committee done it assignment diligently and submitted its report to the central Committee.
He noted that state government also formed thirteen man committee composed of six people each from government and Labour which was headed by the accountant general of Bauchi State
The NLC Chairman, revealed.that, the organized Labour has signed agreement with the state government and witnessed by all the relevant stakeholders on the minimum wage act implementation within the state and Local Governments
Comrade Maidara Shuaibu however on behalf of the entire state civil servants and by extension the leadership of all affiliate including the JNC, commended Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad for considering the plight of civil servants through the implementation of the new national Minimum wage
He also applauded the role played by the head of Civil service, the adviser civil service, the Chairman state Revenue Board, the Accountant general and all other people that contributed t in one way or the other for the actualization of the new wage in the state and promised their unwavering commitment to reciprocate the gesture.
