Nigeria Association of Women Journalists pledges to standardize the union’s structure for effective service delivery.

The state Chapter of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists has enumerated its achievements so far recorded from February twenty-twenty four to date towards standardizing the Association’s structure for effective service delivery.

The State NAWOJ Chairperson Hajiya Rashida Yusuf stated this during its congress meeting held at the state NUJ Secretariat, Bauchi.

She said the congress meeting is conducted quarterly every year, with the aim of preparing solutions to the problems faced by the Association.

The NAWOJ Chairperson identified the one day capacity building for women groups and other stakeholders on “Not too late to learn” in partnership with UNICEF and the office of the state first lady which targeted 50 women to be enroll into informal learning centers to acquire basic education, as an effort by NAWOJIANs to improve the wellbeing of women in the state.

Rashida Yusuf said thirty NAWOJIANs were trained on in depth knowledge of the operations of the National Human Right Commission on how to report cases of human right effectively.

She commended Bauchi state government for subsidizing prices of fertilizer and other farm inputs to farmers in State.

The NAWOJ Chairperson the association remained committed to reporting under reported issues that affect women and children in the state.

According to her, NAWOJ would continue training and retraining of its members on modern techniques of using simple application tools among others.

Also speaking, the National Zonal Secretary of the Association Hajiya Hauwa Aliyu, commended the effort of the NAWOJIANs for working tirelessly towards sensitizing women in the state.

She called on the NAWOJIANS to put utmost attention to the issues affecting women and children so as to succeed.
