Muslim Women in the country have been challenged to serve as role models in the society.

An environmental advocate in Nigeria Dr. Abdullahi Lamido dropped this hint in his paper Presentation during the FOMWAN National Conference in Kaduna on community empowerment through education and advocacy, enhancing awareness on climate issues.

He enjoined FOMWAN to take the lead in sensitizing the populace on what brings about negative consequences to the environment.

Dr. Abdullahi Lamido used the avenue to remind all and sundry on thier responsibility towards enhanced environmental protection, quoting relevant Qur’anic verses.

Dr. Lamido who lamented the rampant tree felling for cooking which leads to deforestation and flooding, advised FOMWAN at all levels to organize an advocacy and awareness to educate their Neighbors and create programs on Radio, Television,and other social Media handles in their respective states.

He emphasized the need for FOMWAN to use their schools to create eco clubs and to include the climate change in their curriculum.

Some of the participants in the syndicate group promised to take change In their respected state for the benefits of the citizens of the country.
