Korean International Agency Partners Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board in Digital Learning

As part of its continued commitment to support Smart Education in Nigeria, a high-powered delegation from the Korean International Cooperation Agency in collaboration with the Universal Basic Education Board Bauchi have visited Model Smart School Bauchi.

The visit aims to assess the challenges facing the school and identifying areas for improvement in preparation for the execution of second phase of the Korea -Nigeria project in the Bauchi state.

In his welcome address, the Executive Chairman Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board Alhaji Adamu Mohammed Duguri expressed gratitude to Korean Agency for its steadfast partnership in promoting digital and Smart education in Bauchi State.

The Executive Chairman who was represented by the permanent commissioner One of the board , Alh, Ishiaku S.Abdullahi reiterated SUBEB’s commitment to working closely with Korea International Cooperation Agency to ensure the success and sustainability of the Smart School initiative.

In his Remarks Korean International Agency’s ‘Country Director Mr. Esunub Kim, appreciated the support provided by SUBEB and the dedication of the Smart School’s staff.

Mr Esunub emphasized the Korean Agency’s readiness to continue to support Smart education in Bauchi state and Nigeria at large by addressing key infrastructural and technical challenges hindering its performance.

In his Presentation the Principal of Model Smart School Bauchi, Mal. Tahir Babayo Inuwa, enumerated major challenges facing the school to include Unstable Power Supply which negatively affected the operation of Smart Classrooms and ICT tools.

He added that Poor Internet Connectivity as well as Inconsistent network access also hampers the full utilization of digital learning platforms and online resources.

In his remarks the SUBEB Director School services who is also the Overseeing Director Smart School, Bauchi Malam Zuhairu Usman reiterated the commitment of the board to provide teaching and learning materials to support the smart education in the state.

He also assured the Korean Agency that all issues will be resolved in due course stressing that these challenges are critical for the effective implementation of Smart Education in the state.

In his closing remarks, Professor Hwang, the Project Coordinator Korean International Agency acknowledged the progress made so far and assured the school management and SUBEB that Korea International Cooperation Agency is committed to working towards addressing the identified challenges during the next phase of the project.

The visit highlighted KOICA’s hands-on approach to ensuring the success of Smart Schools in Nigeria and underscored the need for continued collaboration between KOICA, SUBEB, and school administrators to improve digital learning outcomes in Bauchi State.
