Joint Task Force commences Removal of Illegal Billboards and Political Posters in Bauchi

In a decisive move to restore order, enhance public safety, and improve aesthetic outlook of the state capital, a Joint Task Force has commenced removal of illegal billboards, banners, and political posters across Bauchi metropolis and two other senatorial districts.

The ongoing exercise being coordinated by a special committee under the leadership of the Director General of the Bauchi State Infrastructure Development and Maintenance Agency ,, Engr. Abdurrahman Mai Auduga.
The operation forms part of the Bauchi State Government’s broader efforts to promote urban sanitation, regulate outdoor advertising, and ensure compliance with existing environmental and safety standards.

Speaking after the commencement of the exercise in Bauchi, Engr. Mai Auduga disclosed that the task force is targeting all unauthorized outdoor advertisements, including political posters and banners mounted on roads, public buildings, electricity poles, and other prohibited locations.

According to him, many of the structures pose serious safety risks to motorists and pedestrians, while contributing to environmental degradation and visual pollution, Adding that the illegal structures obstruct visibility, endanger road users, and undermine the orderly development of our urban spaces.

Members of the committee, drawn from relevant government agencies and supported by security personnel has dismantled illegal billboards and removing posters from major roads, roundabouts, and other strategic public locations within Bauchi metropolis.

Engr. Abdurrahman Mai Auduga also issued a strong warning to politicians, organizations, and members of the public to strictly adhere to established regulations governing outdoor advertising. He emphasized that defaulters would be sanctioned in accordance with the law.

He reaffirmed Government’s commitment to maintain critical infrastructure, promote clean and healthy urban environment, and enforcing regulations in the interest of public safety.
