Islamic Scholars in Bauchi advised to remind households on their responsibilities.

Islamic scholars in Bauchi State have been enjoined to redouble effort in impacting moral teaching of Islam for an egalitarian Society.

The Bauchi State first lady Dr. Aisha Bala Mohammed made the call at a peace seminar for Imams and Ulamas organized by her office held at Command Guest inn, Bauchi.

Dr Aisha Bala Mohammed expressed concern on the raising cases of child trafficking and exploitation of adults under the guise of seeking greener pastures abroad.

While condemning the daily atrocities committed nationwide, the Bauchi First Lady appealed to religious leaders to intensify community sensitization on the dangers of human trafficking in Bauchi State.

Dr Aisha further called on the Ulamas to speak against hatred, discourage violence, and promote justice, emphasizing that, men must take full responsibility of their families.

In a welcome address, the Executive Secretary of the State Muslim Pilgrims Board, Imam Abdurrahman Ibrahim Idris stressed the need for peaceful coexistence among Imams and cautioned against divisive engagements on social media.

In their separate remarks, Malam Tahir Muhammad Gurfa, Malam Shaya’u Yusha’u, Dr Fatihu Sheikh Dahir, Dr. Mujitapha Abdulkadir and Dr. Muhammad Isa Duguri assured their continued support in preaching to parents on their responsibilities to reduce the immorality among youths in the state.

The theme of the seminar is “Working Together for a Safer Society”.
