Governor Bala Muhammad approves Automatic employment of late Journalist”s wife into the State Civil Service

 

Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has approved an automatic employment into the State Civil Service for the wife of the late cameraman of Channels Television, Kani Ben, as part of measures to support the bereaved family.
Kani Ben who was laid to rest on Saturday at his hometown, Kangling, Girei local government area of Adamawa State died at the age of 43, nine days after he was involved in a ghastly accident while covering North East Development Commission (NEDC) projects with other journalists in Alkaleri LGA of Bauchi state.
Speaking at the burial ceremony, the Bauchi Governor expressed deep sympathy and extended condolences to the family of the deceased and the entire journalism community over the tragic incident.
The governor, represented by the Commissioner for Information, Usman Shehu Usman, pointed out that he had personally visited other injured journalists at ATBUTH and directed his physician to remain with them to ensure proper medical attention.
Governor Bala then paid tribute to the late cameraman, describing him as a dedicated professional, humble and a man of dignity who earned respect through hard work and commitment to his craft.
In a remark, the special adviser on Media and Publicity, Comrade Mukhtar Gidado, said the late Ben who is working at the Press Crew, Government House Bauchi was not only committed to his profession but understood the importance of documenting history under all circumstances.
In a condolence message delivered during the burial, the NEDC managing director and chief executive officer, Mohammed Alkali, represented by Naomi Abwaku from the Corporate Services Unit, described Kani’s death in active service as a painful loss and a testament to his dedication to duty and the vital role of the media in society.
