The Bauchi State government has engaged the services of a consultant, Solid Regents Integrated Services Ltd, to supervise the execution of a contract for the total rehabilitation of the Specialist Hospital, Bauchi.
The commissioner for health, Dr. Sani Mohammed Dambam, disclosed this in a post- State Executive Council meeting press briefing held at the Government House.
According to the commissioner, the engagement of the consultant is to ensure value for money for the people of the state.
It will be recalled that, Governor Bala Mohammed on October 29, 2025 flagged off the total rehabilitation and upgrade of the hospital at the cost of over N19 billion, awarded the contract to ARCHITECTRONIX Limited.
The commissioner said, “Such kind of large project would require special supervision and close monitoring having been a specialised project, not like a general building, also having been in a special environment”.
He further stated that the consultant had a vast knowledge and experience in both medicine and building engineering.
The commissioner added that the state government was very happy and optimistic with the consultant coming fully on board, and the project would be delivered in good time and quality and according to specification.
Similarly, the commissioner for sports and social development, Hon. Adamu Gabarin unveiled a plan by the state government to transform the state sports council into a sports commission which he said is in tandem with the federal government’s structure.
The commissioner explained that the state was running conventional sporting activities such as football, hockey and cricket, among others in order to more Bauchi forward in this social sector.
