Coalition of political and civic groups in Bauchi call on Senator Adamu Ibrahim Gumba to contest forthcoming governorship election.

A coalition of political and civic groups in Bauchi State has urged Senator Adamu Ibrahim Gumba to contest the 2027 governorship election, based on his leadership record and administrative experiences.

The groups, including Youth and Women Kuyan Bana Support Group, Kuyan Bana House-to-House Campaign Organisation, Concerned Citizens of Bauchi State, Artisans and Traders Association, and the Road and Transport Association, made the appeal during a press conference held in Bauchi.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Malam Danlami Danfulani said the call followed extensive consultations with community leaders, business stakeholders, and residents across the state, the conviction of Senator Adamu Gumba’s capacity to provide effective leadership based on his track record in public service.

Mallam Danfulani recalled that Senator Gumba had previously served in the Bauchi State civil service before moving to the Federal level, where he rose to the position of Deputy Director-General of the Nigeria Customs Service., as well as being a one time Head of Civil Service in Bauchi State.

According to him, electing Senator Gumba as governor would accelerate development in the state and sustain ongoing initiatives under Governor Bala Mohammed in his achievements on human and infrastructural development.

The coalition further called on members of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP and the electorates to support their cause and rally round Gumba’s prospective candidacy.

Responding to their appeal at his residence , Senator Adamu Ibrahim Gumba accepted the call and declared his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election.

He attributed his decision to the encouragement and support expressed by the groups and pledged to pursue an inclusive and peaceful political campaign if elected.

Gumba also expressed appreciation to the groups for having confidence in his leadership, assuring the people of Bauchi State of his commitment to advancing peace, development, and good governance.
