Bauchi State House of Assembly has passed the State 2026 appropriation bill of eight hundred and seventy-seven billion, fifty-two million, nine hundred and seven thousand, nine hundred naira into law.
The passage followed the presentation of the report of the House Committee on Appropriation by its Chairman, Wanzam Mohammed, during plenary presided over by the Speaker, Abubakar Y. Sulaiman.
Wanzam Mohammed said the approved budget shows that ₦308.7 billion, representing 35.20 percent, is allocated for recurrent expenditure, while ₦568.3 billion is earmarked for capital projects.
According to him, the move is aimed at infrastructure development, social services, and economic growth.
He explained that, the committee in the report, commended for the establishment of fiscal service commission, capacity building on the new budget framework, sanctions against extra budget expenditure.
Others he said, include timely release of funds to MDA’s and strengthening audit and procurement frameworks.
