
The Chairman of Bogoro Local Government Area, Lawi Yakubu Sumi, has sympathized with the people of Gambar communities following the recent incident that affected farmlands and residential areas in the area.
During the visit, Yakubu Sumi expressed deep concern over the incident, describing it as a natural disaster that has brought untold hardship to the affected families.
He assured the community members of his administration’s readiness to work closely with the Bauchi State Government, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), and other relevant stakeholders to ensure prompt intervention and adequate support for victims.
Yakubu Sumi eemphasized the need for collective to address security challenges and residents in disaster-prone areas to always report early signs of environmental threats to the authorities for swift action.
Speaking on behalf of the Gambar Lere Traditional Rulers, the Acting Village Head of Gambar Lere, Mr. Sama’ila, commended the council Chairman for his swift response and style leadership.
He noted that, the presence of the chairman has given the affected communities hope and confidence that their plight will not be neglected.
Also speaking, the Councilor representing Gambar Ward, Polmi Bulus Daris said several farmlands, homes, and access routes were affected by the incident.
