BAUCHIi STATE GOVERMENT DELEGATION EXPLORES MORROCCAN MODEL FOR EDUCATIONAL REFORMS

Bauchi State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Jamila Dahiru,has led a high-ranking delegation on an official study visit to the Kingdom of Morocco, with the aim of examining Morocco’s educational practices.

The delegation included Alhaji Admu Duguri, Chairman of SUBEB, and . Dr. Nasir Ala, the Chairman of the Bauchi State House of Assembly Committee on Education, alongside other key stakeholders.

The visit focused on studying how Morocco successfully integrates formal and non-formal education at the foundational level, where the Bauchi delegation engaged extensively with Moroccan Ministry officials and visited various educational institutions, including secondary schools and non-formal “second chance” education centers, which aim to provide alternatives for students who may have left the traditional education system.

Dr. Dahiru highlighted two institutions, Aththanawi Maula Abudussalam Bn Mashish Ta’alihliyyat and Markez Lil Ta’lil Alqudarat, as models for inspiration

In the meantime, .the Bauchi State Government aims to incorporate lessons learned from Morocco to improve both formal and non-formal education systems back home, with hopes of fostering a lasting partnership through the Nigerian Embassy.

The delegation’s visit is part of Bauchi State’s broader education reform strategy to uplift learning outcomes and create more opportunities for students across the state.
