The Bauchi State Urban Water and Sewerage Corporation (BSUWSC) Mobile Court has issued summons to seven households in the Gida Dubu area of Bauchi metropolis, directing them to appear before the court within five days.
The court conducted an inspection visit to the area following reports of illegal water connections on the main pumping line supplying water from Gubi Dam to Bauchi.
Barrister Asabe Sarauta Yusuf, legal counsel for BSUWSC, announced the court’s summons, presided over by Judge Zanaiba Shuabu.
A resident of the area, Malam Muhammad Abdullahi, revealed that locals had been paying five thousand naira ₦5,000 for unauthorized connections to the pipeline, alleging that unknown individuals were exploiting residents without the water corporation’s approval.
