Bauchi State state govt has mapped out strategies to fight climate change through planting of trees.

The State Commissioner Ministry of Housing and Environment, Danlami Ahmed Kawule says the state government has mapped out strategies to fight climate change through planting of trees.

Danlami Kawule, stated this after depending his ministry’s 2024 proposed budget before the state House of Assembly.

The Commissioner explained that tree planting remains key to tackle degredation, desert encroachment and other climate issues.

Ahmed Kawule, revealed that, through Acresal project, the state government has plans to combat all environmental issues, saying that, safe and secure environment remain priority of the state government.

Commenting on the ongoing, renovation and upgrading of the Government House Bauchi, Kawule said the contracting firm has since handed over the first gate to the ministry which comprises 7 offices equiped with modern gadgets and is expected to receive the project before the end of this month.

The Commissioner further,said, in no distant time the ministry will embark on renovation of the state House of Assembly complex.

Meanwhile, the ministry of Youth and sports says plans are on top gear to commence the construction of Sports Academy in Bauchi.

Speaking to newsmen after depending 2024 proposed budget, the Commissioner Salisu Muhammad Gamawa, said the 6 priority areas contained in the ministry’s document sees sport beyond entertainment rather a great investment.

Salisu Muhammad Gamawa, said the ministry has made plans for youth empowerment and other programmes designed for the betterment of young people in the state.
