Bauchi State Pilgrims Board charges Intending Pilgrims to avoid selfies as Saudi Arabia imposes tough sanctions

The Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has cautioned intending pilgrims from the state to refrain from taking selfies and recording videos in Saudi Arabia’s holy sites, citing newly enforced regulations by the Saudi authorities.
The directive was conveyed in a statement issued by the Board’s Director of Enlightenment, Alhaji Abubakar Hashimu, and made available to newsmen in Bauchi.

According to the statement, the Saudi government has introduced strict penalties for individuals caught taking photographs or recording videos within and around the Haram.

The enlightenment Director, said offenders risk a fine of up to Ten Thousand Saudi Riyals, cancellation of their Hajj visa, and possible deportation to their home countries.
The statement therefore urged all pilgrims from Bauchi State to comply fully with the regulations to avoid sanctions and ensure successful and peaceful conduct of their Hajj rites.
