Bauchi State Independent Electoral Commission (BASIEC) has successfully conducted by-elections in Tunfafi and Zubo Wards of Shira Local Government Area, as well as Mainako Ward in Zaki Local Government Area.
The Chairperson of the Commission, Hajiya Jummai Abubakar, disclosed this during a news conference in Bauchi.
She stated that, the elections were conducted peacefully and in strict compliance with the provisions of the Bauchi State Electoral Law.
According to her, at the end of the exercise, candidates who satisfied all legal and electoral requirements were duly returned as winners.
Hajiya Jummai Abubakar expressed appreciation to voters, stakeholders, the Bauchi State Government, and members of the public for their support, which she said contributed to the success of the elections.
She reassured the public of the Commission’s readiness to conduct credible, transparent, and acceptable elections in the state.
The BASIEC Chairperson also commended members of the press for their dedication and commitment in promoting the activities of the Commission throughout the electoral process.
Hajiya Jummai Abubakar announced the winners as Babangida Ibrahim Tumfafi Ward from PDP, Jamilu Muhammad Zobo ward PDP from Shira Local Government and Adamu Bulama of Mainako Ward from PDP, Zaki Local Government Area.
