The Bauchi State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to work with relevant stakeholders especially traditional leaders to end out of school children in the state.
The State Commissioner of Education Dr Lawan Mohammed Rimin Ziyam stated this during the official flag off of the Twenty twenty five twenty twenty six state wide enrollment campaign organized by Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board SUBEB in collaboration with Universal Basic Education Commission Universal Basic Education Commission UBEC and UNICEF held at Government Secondary School Kirfi.
Dr Lawan Rimin Zayem tasked SUBE to work with local government areas to achieve the set objectives.
Emir of Bauchi Alhaji Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu reaffirmed his council readiness to support state government to achieve the enrollment campaign drive in the state particularly girl child.
The Emir represented by the District head of Kirfi Alhaji Ladan Mohammed Lawan commended Governor Bala Mohammed, NGOs and relevant stakeholders for their efforts towards improving education sector in the state.
In speech, the chairman of SUBED Alhaji Adamu Muhammad Duguri reiterated his readiness to sack any undedicated teacher and rewarding dedicated ones for the progress of basic learning process in the state.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Chairman of Kirfi local government area Alhaji Abdulkadir Umar Dewu thanks state government for choosing the area to host the twenty twenty five twenty twenty six enrollment campaign drive in the state.
Alhaji Abdulkadir Umar Dewu admitted that Kirfi local government is lacking behind in education and assured his commitment to support government to achieve the enrollment drive campaign in the state.
He also tasked parent to enroll their children to school considering its important to their future and charged people of the area to engage themselves in lowful businesses particularly agriculture.
Alhaji Abdulkadir Umar Dewu appreciated Governor Bala Mohammed for providing people of Kirfi local government area with devidend of democracy and called on people of the state to continue supporting the governor for the overall development of Bauchi state.
In key note address, the representatives of UBEC Alhaji Abdullahi Shehu Jarma emphasized that basic education is key for the success and advise percents to support their children educational needs
In her remarks, the UNICEF Chief of field office Bauchi Dr Nuzhat Rafique commended Bauchi state government’ policies and programs that led to the reduction of out of school children from one point five million to five hundred thousand in the state.
She pledged UNICEF commitment to work with Bauchi State government to ensure that children age from six to seventeen are enroll, retention and complete their studies.
In his presentation on the importance and benefits of education title “Bauchi way forward” the guest speaker professor Bala Sulaiman Dalhat of ATBU advised state government to prioritize education and to do individuals to invest their wealth in education as well parents and guardians to ensure their children and wards are enrolled for the overall development in the state.
