Bauchi State Committee for Monitoring and Distribution of farmlands in De-reserved Government Forests has expressed concern and dismay over the encroachment of the site and directed all illegal occupants to vacate immediately inline with state governments directives.
Speaking during a visit to Ningi local government., the chairman of the committee, Comrade Saleh Umar Misau said they were on an official tour to Ningi local government inline with the state government directives to dislodge all illegal occupants in Tamba Forest in the area.
The committee chairman also expressed dismay over the mass encouragement in the forest. The chairman who gave the directive also maintained that only the State Chief Executive has the ultimate power to settle any occupants in the forest.
In his speech at the occasion, the local government chairman, Alhaji Nasiru Zakarai Dankasuwa observed that forest reserve was destroyed by some unauthorized individuals and commended the state chief executive for the giant effort to fight deforestation across the state.
In his vote of thanks, the Emir of Burra, Alhaji Ya’u Shehu Abubakar, represented by the District head of Burra, Alhaji Zakarai Hussaini commended the efforts of the state goverment for taking the right step at the right.
