Bauchi State Government appreciates NEDC’s humanitarian intervention in the state

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening social services and sustaining impactful programmes in education, healthcare, agriculture, and infrastructure development across Bauchi State.

The Governor gave the assurance while receiving the Minister of State for Regional Development, Alhaji Uba Maigari Ahmadu, alongside the management of the North East Development Commission (NEDC) and members of the house of Representatives committee on NEDC on a courtesy visit at the Government House, Bauchi.

Governor Bala Mohammed noted that the intervention projects executed by the NEDC across the state have made significant positive impacts and continue to improve the living conditions of the people.

He commended the commission’s leadership for its professionalism and effective coordination of humanitarian and development initiatives in the North East.

According to the Governor, his administration has so far constructed about 3,000 kilometres of roads across Bauchi State and has proposed the construction of an additional 1,000 kilometres in different parts of the state to further boost connectivity and economic activities.

He assured the Federal Government that all projects implemented in Bauchi State would be properly utilised for the purposes for which they were designed.

The Governor also appealed to the NEDC to sustain its humanitarian interventions, especially in vulnerable and underserved communities.

Earlier, the Minister of State for Regional Development, Alhaji Uba Maigari Ahmadu, said the delegation was in Bauchi to inspect completed and ongoing projects ahead of their formal commissioning.

He explained that Federal Government projects being executed through the NEDC are life-touching interventions spanning agriculture, health, education, and infrastructure, aimed at improving the welfare of citizens in the region.

Alhaji Uba Maigari commended Governor Bala Mohammed for what he described as transformative projects that are positively changing the landscape of Bauchi State.
