Bauchi State First Lady , Dr Aisha Bala Muhammad,has restated her commitment to support and promote women empowerment programmes .
She made the assurance during she received the delegations from Nigeria for women project at her Residence in Bauchi.
She used the forum to urge women across the state to key into the World Bank–assisted Nigeria for Women Project, designed to provide revolving loans and other financial opportunities to interested beneficiaries for improved income generation.
Dr Aisha Bala Muhammad emphasized the need for women to actively participate in the initiative as a means of guaranteeing sustainable livelihoods.
She also encouraged beneficiaries to imbibe a strong culture of savings to enhance their economic independence and contribute to socio-economic development of the state and the country at large
The first Lady Also advised the state team Nigeria for women project to take their responsibilities for the success of the project in Bauchi State.
Speaking earlier, the state coordinator Nigeria for women project Hajiya Fatima Abubakar said they were at the First Lady ‘s Residence to intimate her on the nature of the project and the Target beneficiaries.
Hajiya Fatima Abubakar said the women from eighteen years to fifteen are eligible to aquire membership card to enable them bocome beneficiaries of the project.
She also said the project would assist women to acquire loans through their monthly contributions for savings.
Hajiya Fatima Abubakar noted that the three local Governments of the state would benefit from the project where Alkaleri,Misau and Itas Gadau local Government Areas would be allocated over thirty thousand women to participate from the project Worth billions of Naira.
She added that the Nigerian for women project is a world Bank project where all beneficiaries would be trained on the project.
