No fewer than seven construction workers have sustained various degrees of injury at the construction site of a one story building complex along Sir Kashim Ibrahim road, GRA, Bauchi.
The personnel of the Bauchi State Fire Service Directorate and some of the unaffected workers participated towards rescuing the victims.
Speaking to newsmen after the operation, the State Director of Fire Service, Builder Dauda Bala Pali said that after receiving a distress call, they promptly responded.
He said that the victims were rushed to the hospital for proper medical attention.
The Director also expressed concern over the activities of non professional engineers in the building industry.
He also appealed to the authorities concerned to thoroughly investigate the incident in order to fish out quack engineers from the building industry.
Dauda Bala Pali who is a builder by profession, called on those who want to build structures to ensure that the job is handled by professional building engineers.
Some of the laborers interviewed, expressed their gratitude to the Bauchi state fire service for the quick response and called on them to maintain the tempo.
