Bauchi Livestock Development Commissioner urges bidders to accept tender outcomes in good faith

Bauchi State Government has called on contractors who participated in the bidding process for the construction of an Artificial Insemination Centre and Farmer Field School at the College of Agriculture, Bauchi, to accept the outcome of the evaluation process in good faith.

The state Commissioner for Livestock Development, Dr. Bala Musa Lukshi made the appeal during the official bid opening ceremony held at the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support (L-PRES) Project Conference Hall in Bauchi.

The Commissioner noted that in every competitive process, there must be winners and losers, urging all bidders to remain fair-minded and trust the transparent process put in place.

He commended the bidders for their interest in partnering with the state government through the L-PRES Project and expressed gratitude to the project team for ensuring a smooth and transparent exercise.

Dr. Lukshi further highlighted the unwavering support of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed describing him as a leader who has placed high priority on developing the livestock sector.

He revealed that the governor approved the state’s participation in the World Bank–supported L-PRES Project and ensured that all mandatory eligibility requirements were met.

According to him, Governor Bala Mohammed has also approved ₦20 million counterpart funding annually for three consecutive years to support the project’s implementation.

Earlier, the Procurement Officer of the L-PRES Project, Malam Umar Nuhu, listed the names of participating companies, their quoted amounts, and bid securities obtained from both microfinance and commercial banks.

Malam Umar disclosed that only one bidder arrived after the official closing time but appreciated their interest in participating.

In his closing remarks, the State Coordinator of the L-PRES Project, Musa Adamu One, thanked the Commissioner for gracing the event and appreciated the bidders for their participation. He announced that an evaluation team would immediately be constituted, adding that successful bidders would be duly notified upon completion of the assessment.

He also cautioned participants against viewing the process as a “do-or-die” affair, emphasizing that only one successful bidder would emerge.

One of the bidders, speaking on behalf of others, commended the transparency and professionalism demonstrated throughout the process.
