Bauchi Governor Swears In new Permanent Secrtaries, Urges them to lead by example

Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammad has stated that his administration has institutionalized a merit-based system in the appointment and elevation of senior civil servants through fairness, inclusiveness, and representation across the state.

Speaking at the swearing in the newly appointed 17 Permanent Secretaries at the Government House, Bauchi, the Governor noted that merit has remained the overriding principle guiding the administration’s decisions.

According to him, one of the key pillars of his administration has been promptly filling critical vacancies in the public service, particularly at top management levels, so that service delivery cannot be not disrupted and explained that the appointment of the new Permanent Secretaries are not only necessary, but strategic.

Governor Bala Mohammad said as discipline remains the bedrock of an effective civil service, the new Permanent Secretaries must demonstrate punctuality, respect timelines, and uphold diligence, commitment, and responsibility by leading by example, encourage teamwork, and promote professionalism.

The Governor then announced that his administration has embarked on deliberate reforms, including the recruitment of young qualified officers who represent the future of the service, assuring that the administration will continue to prioritize the welfare and well-being of civil servants.

Responding on behalf of the sworn in Permanent Secretaries, Sabiu Barau Ningi who was posted to Deputy Governor’s office, expressed gratitude to Governor Bala Mohammad for finding them worthy of the elevation and promised to be loyal and supportive of the success of the administration.
