Bauchi First Lady reaffirms Federal government’s commitment to improve welfare of Senior citizens

The Wife of the Bauchi State Governor, Dr Aisha Bala Mohammed has reaffirmed the commitment of the Federal Government to improving the welfare of senior citizens through the Renewed Hope Initiative Elderly Support Scheme.
She made this known during the presentation of support to elderly beneficiaries under the scheme, which provides financial assistance to two hundred and fifty senior citizens drawn from the thirty-six states of the federation, the Federal Capital Territory, as well as retired personnel of the Armed Forces and the Nigeria Police.
According to her, the programme, with the theme “Finding Joy in Old Age,” is aimed at enhancing the wellbeing of elderly persons and restoring hope in their later years.
Represented by the wife of the state Deputy Governor, Hajiya Asma’u Muhammad Jatau, the Bauchi State First Lady said the initiative reflects the Federal Government’s resolve to ensure that senior citizens are not neglected but supported to live dignified and fulfilled lives.
She explained that the Renewed Hope Initiative, coordinated by the wife of the President and National Coordinator, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, places strong emphasis on compassion, social inclusion, and shared responsibility for the care of the aged, especially those who have served the nation in different capacities.
Dr. Aisha Bala Mohammed also assured beneficiaries of continued support and collaboration in promoting the welfare of elderly persons in the state.
Beneficiaries of the scheme expressed appreciation to the Federal Government and the Bauchi State Government for the assistance, describing it as timely and reassuring.
