Bauchi First Lady distributes food items to Women and Churches for Christmas celebrations in the State

The Office of the Bauchi State First Lady, in collaboration with the Ministry of Women Affairs and Child Development, has distributed food items to women groups and churches across the state to support the 2025 Christmas celebrations in the state.

Speaking at the distribution exercise held at the Dr. Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu Square, Government House, Bauchi, the state First Lady, Dr. Aisha Bala Mohammed, said Christmas is a season that reminds people of the need to uphold love, care, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence among people of all faiths.

Dr. Aisha Bala Mohammed noted that, the Bauchi State Government, under the leadership of her husband, Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, remains committed to consolidating its achievements through people-oriented development programmes, with particular focus on empowering women and children.

She explained that, the food items were distributed to women groups and churches across the state for onward distribution to their members, stressing that, the gesture was aimed at supporting the vulnerable during the festive period and beyond, as the state prepares to usher in the new year.

The First Lady urged the beneficiaries to ensure the judicious and transparent distribution of the items.

She also advised parents, especially mothers and caregivers, to remain vigilant in guiding and monitoring their children’s upbringing in order to instill discipline, good values, and responsible leadership for the future.

Dr. Aisha Bala Mohammed further called on residents to use the Christmas season to pray for peace in the state, the nation, and for the wellbeing of their families and children.

In her welcome address, the State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development, Dr. Lydia Haruna Tsanmani, said the Ministry, in collaboration with the Office of the First Lady, has consistently supported Christmas celebrations through the distribution of relief items to ease the burden on beneficiaries.

Dr. Lydia Tsanmani appealed to recipients to make proper use of the items and expressed optimism that, the gesture would contribute to a peaceful and joyous Christmas celebration across the state.

Items distributed during the exercise included, 250 bags of rice, 24 cartons of vegetable oil, 25 cows, and 14 bags of sugar.
