Bauchi state contingents heading to Asaba Delta State for this year’s national youth games have been urged to be good ambassadors of the state.
The commissioner youth and sports development, Alhaji Adamu Babayo Gabarin made the call during a farewell address to the contingents at the state sports council complex in Bauchi.
The commissioner who was represented by the overseeing permanent secretary of the ministry, Alhaji Abdullahi Ibrahim, encouraged the team to uphold Bauchi state reputation in sportsmanship and discipline.
He said the contingents totalling one hundred and thirty one includes athletes, coaches, secretaries, accompanied referees, management staff and other officials.
According to Adamu Babayo Gabarin, Bauchi state athletes will compete in seventeen different sporting events both Male and females.
Alhaji Gabarin who said government has given all it takes to guarantee success, urged the athletes to reciprocate the gesture by making the state proud at the end of the national games.
Also speaking, the SSA on sports to the governor, Mr Paul Gambar, called on the athletes to be calm and grab more medals as they did during the North East zonal elimination.
The 9th national youth games will take place in Asaba Delta state from the 26th August to 7th September twenty twenty five.
