The Adolecents Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment has flagged off of the distribution of ATM and students ID cards for Girls Scholarship Program from selected school in Bauchi state
In his remark at the occasion held at GCDSS Sa’adu Zungur, the state commissioner of education Dr Lawan Mohammed Rimin Ziyem said the gesture was a collaborative effort of Bauch state government and the world bank to support the education needs of less privileged female students across the twenty local government areas.
Dr Lawan Mohammed Rimin Ziyem said the gesture will encourage enrollment campaign drive of female students in the state
The commissioner noted that the initiative is a clear demonstration of governor Bala Mohammad broader commitment to improve students learning in the state
He called on people to enroll their children to school towards complementing the effort of government enrollment, retention and completion drive in the state
Earlier, the state coordinator of AGILE Hajiya Ladi Mohammed said over twelve thousand female students would benefit from the fist phase of the disbursement while forty thousand people to be benefited at the second phase
Hajiya Ladi Hamma noted that appropriate measures have been put in place to ensure seamless accessibility to the funds
In a vote of thanks unbehalf of the benefited parents, and guardians Alhaji Murtala Tanimu Lere thanked state government and AGILE for the gesture and assured their readiness to use the funds to the education need mores of their wards and children
