Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University / Federal Polytechnic Bauchi Matriculate 2025/2026 Degree Students

Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, ATBU, Bauchi, in affiliation with the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi, has formally matriculated seventy three new students for the 2025/2026 academic session.

Speaking at the event held at, the ATBU , the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ibrahim Hassan Garba represented by professor Abubakar Sadiq Garba, said the University was satisfied with the Polytechnic’s performance over the years and expressed confidence in the partnership.

He urged the Polytechnic to continue upholding academic standards and make both institutions, and Nigeria’s education sector proud
Professor Garba described matriculation as a cardinal requirement for students to become bonafide members of a tertiary institution.

He congratulated the new students for securing admission, noting that many qualified applicants were unable to do so, and warned that ATBU operates a zero-tolerance policy on vices including cultism, examination malpractice, sexual harassment, drug abuse, indecent dressing, vandalism, and truancy.

The Vice-Chancellor assured students that adequate facilities and welfare provisions had been put in place and urged them to use the resources wisely.

Also speaking, the Rector of Federal Polytechnic Bauchi Alhaji Sani Usman said the matriculation marked a significant milestone in the academic collaboration between the two institutions.

He noted that the ceremony reflects a shared commitment to expanding access to quality education and promoting academic excellence.

The Rector represented by his deputy, Dr Dalhatu Abubakar reiterated that the Polytechnic operates a zero-tolerance policy on social vices, warning that offenders would face disciplinary action, including rustication or expulsion.

He encouraged students to focus on academic engagement, attend lectures regularly, and uphold discipline and integrity.
