Wife of the President launches Adolescent Health programme with distribution of sanitary materials to School Girls

Nigeria’s First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu has launched the National Flow with confidence with a donation of Three hundred thousand and seventy Disposable sanitary pads to school Girls across thirty six States and FCT.
The program was held at the Government House Bauchi with the ”theme Empowering school through Menstrual Health”” under the renewed Hope Initiative.
Speaking during the Distribution of the disposal sanitary pads, Bauchi State first Lady who is the coordinator North East of the Renewal Hope Initiative program,Dr Aisha Bala Muhammad ,said the program is being conducted all over the country to ensure that no girl is left behind in their studies during menstrual period.
Dr Aisha Bala Muhammad noted the distributeting one- year supply of disposable sanitary pads to three hundred and seventy thousand school girls in rural communities across the nation at the end of the programme.
The First Lady also said the Renewed Hope Initiative spent a total of two Billion five hundred and fifty million,two hundred and fifty naira to procure these customized Disposable sanitary pads from a local manufacturing company, uniglory Nigeria limited in ikorodu, Lagos state.
Dr Aisha Bala Muhammad expressed that each state was given Ten thousand Sanitary pads to distribute among school Girls which she noted would greatly assist in that regard .
In her remarks , Hajiya Zuwaira Y M Baba the gender desk officer ministry of health Bauchi who spoke on health issues for the girls said the monthly menstrual period comes up every twenty two to thirty two days circulating monthly, hence the need for the girls to use the sanitary pads for properly cater for themselves.
She commended the first Lady for the gesture and also advised the teachers to encourage the students to use the sanitary pads judiciously.
In his welcome address, the state commissioner of Education Dr Muhammad Lawan Rimin zayam said Empowering school Girls Through Menstrual Health aligns directly with shared commitment to ensuring that no girls is left behind in her pursuit of education due to natural biological processes.
He also said empowering girls through Menstrual Health enhances academic performance, and the overall development of the state.

Dr Lawan Rimin zayam added that this initiative marks the beginning of sustained menstrual Health awareness, improved school attendance,and strengthened partnership aimed at advancing girl child education across Bauchi State.
He said menstrual problem from the girls is also problem to education sector.
