WHO in collaboration with PHCD organizes one day sensitization exercise for traditional medicine practitioners in Alkaleri

World Health Organization in collaboration with Primary Health Care Department Alkaleri local government has organized a one day sensitization exercise to traditional medicine practitioners in Alkaleri in order to tackle the issues of diseases that could be easy contacted in the communities.

The world health organization representative in Alkaleri Dr. Hassan Abdullahi Gunda said, the prime purpose of the sensitization exercise is to work shoulder by shoulder with the traditional medicine practitioners in over coming of the contagious diseases from affecting our future generations.

Gunda who described traditional medicine practitioners as key informants urged them to be given useful information about emergence of old and new disease that would become a problem to our community.

He also said, this connexion between the both parties would help massively in getting rid of the disease. As government would use this kernel information available for proper interventions.

He however, appealed to people to continue receiving their immunization as scheduled it would reduce spending and improved health care service delivery.

In his welcome addressed director primary health care department Danjuma Malami Yakubu commended traditional medicine practitioners for the existing mutual coexistence which is beneficial to both parties while calling on them to maintain the tempo.

Malami then, urged them to accord their unflinching support and cooperation particularly in providing meaningful information that would help improve health care service delivery.

In his vote of thanks , the state chairman National Association of Nigerian traditional medicine practitioners (NANTMP) Tdr. Muhammad Shaibu Chiroma on behalf of the participants appreciated the World Health Organization and primary health care department for conducting such exercise while pledging to provide useful information so as to ameliorate health sector.

Chiroma Shaibu, expressed gratitude to participants for their cooperations . And also, appealed to primary health care department and world health organization to consider NANTMP as partiners in progress because traditional practitioners are ready to contribute towards improving health sector.
