Toro LGA expresses determination to work in closed collaboration with ELC

Toro Local Government has expressed determination to work in closed collaboration with the Empowerment Learning Centres (ELC) in the area to ensure the sustainability of MEDA activities in the area.

The Care Taker Committee Chairman Alhaji Dallami Garba Abubakar made the disclosure at the MEDA Nigeria Way Local Government Project Close-Out event in the area.

While appreciating MEDA for its seven years project in the Local Government said, in reciprocation of the gesture they would no dought the area will support the sustainability pillars that would uphold the project impact after its closure.

On the beneficiaries Dallami Garba Abubakar enjoined them to effectively use the knowledge they obtained and physically put in place the practical aspect of the project on ground for the overall development of the area.

Speaking earlier the Country Project Manager Mennonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA) Mrs. Fosen Grace Okelola described Toro Local Government as a Key in the successful implementation of Seven year MEDA Project in the State.

Mrs. Grace said MEDA has work in seven Local Government across the State that include Toro, Dass, Ganjuwa, Jama’are, Warji, Katagum and Bauchi Local Government, however she expressed delight and appreciation for the support and cooperation given to them in Toro Local Government describing it as unique.

She commended the state and the Local Government for enhancing smooth implementation, saying that thus the project is rounding up but its positive impact would remained written with indelible ink in the area.

In his vote of thanks the District Head of Toro Katukan Bauchi Alhaji Umar Adamu Toro commended MEDA for impacting positively in the lives of women and youths in the area.

While pledging his support toward the sustainability of the project in his domain Katukan Bauchi appealed to the beneficiaries to uphold the gesture to enhance more development.

Responding some of the beneficiaries Mrs. Elizabeth J Arewa of Salama Women, Malam Rabiu Garba ELC Chairman, Malama Rukayya Mustapha, Malama Sadiya Saidu, Malama Gambo Adamu and Jamila Mohammed all acknowledged the positive contribution of MEDA on their lives and promised to ensure the full sustainability of the project in the area.

According to them over two hundred women and youth organizations benefited in the area of youth Entrepreneurship and Women empowerment.
