Toro Local Government Council has distributed thousand bags of rice to the people living with disability, orphans, vulnerable and the needy in the area.
The Executive Chairman of the local government pharmacist Ibrahim, Abubakar Dembo who led the distribution said the gesture is aimed to assist the beneficiaries, especially during this holy month of Ramadan.
Pharmacist Abubakar Dembo said the gesture is part of his plan to assist less privileged in the society especially people living with disability, orphans, vulnerable children and needy in the area.
While urging the beneficiaries to make best use of the rice given to them, Dembo said a committee has been set up to monitor those willing to divert the commodity.
He urged the beneficiaries to reciprocate the gesture by offering useful prayers for the local and State government to reap more dividend of democracy.
Some of the beneficiary’s interviewed applauded the chairman for the gesture and prayed Allah to guide him all the time.
They promised to make best used of the food commodity given to them.
In another development, Bauchi state government through the office of the Senior Special adviser to the governor on Religious Affairs, Alaramma Aminu Maisule Zirani has distributed Sallah package to over seventy Tsangaya, Alarammas and Islamyiya teachers in Toro local government.
Speaking during the disbursement in Toro local government, Alaramma Aminu Maisule Zirani said the gesture was to appreciate their unflinching support, loyalty and useful prayers to the present administration in the since its inception.
Alaramma Maisule Zirani while acknowledging their contributions in the emergence of the state governor, he said the Governor Bala Mohammed has plans to the people of the area.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Ustaz Aliyu Ahmad Sambo applauded the state governor for the gesture and promised their full support for the development of Bauchi state.
