Plateau United claimed a 1–0 victory over Wikki Tourists in Jos on Matchday 21 of the NPFL26 season, with Vincent Temitope’s 54th-minute goal making the difference.
The decisive moment came early in the second half when Temitope converted Plateau United’s chance, handing the hosts all three points despite being second best for large spells of the encounter.
Wikki Tourists dominated the game from start to finish, controlling possession and creating several scoring opportunities, however, the wasteful finishing proved costly, as Abdullahi Usman and Jonathan Mairiga both had clear chances in the first half that could have changed the course of the match.
Plateau United stayed resolute at the back, absorbed pressure, and made the most of their lone real opportunity to secure the win.
The defeat leaves Wikki Tourists down in 17th position on the NPFL log,a situation far from pleasant for the club as the season progresses.
Speaking after the match, Head Coach Abdu Maikaba admitted his side is going through a difficult moment but remained optimistic about bouncing back stronger in the coming games.
