The Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party Governors’ Forum, and Bauchi State governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has said the party will give the ruling All Progressives Congress a big fight in the 2027 general elections.
The governor was speaking during the opening session of the 101 National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the PDP in Abuja.
In his remarks, Secretary of the PDP Board of Trustees and former governor of Kaduna State, Ahmed Makarfi, who spoke on behalf of the board’s chairman, said all efforts must be made to convene an elective national convention where new national officers of the party would emerge.
He expressed optimism that after the emergence of a new leadership, most of those who left the PDP would return to the party.
In his remarks, the Senate minority leader Senator Abba Moro said, the meeting is designed to propel PDP to the next level.
Speaking on the defection of PDP members to the APC, Senator Moro assured that the remaining senators on the PDP platform would do their best to ensure the party bounces back.
