A call has gone to people of the Bauchi state to support the women participation in politics for better decision making towards good governance.
The state Technical Lead Officer of the project, National League of Women Voters of Nigeria (NILOW), Dr. Victoria Daaor made the call at a one day townhall meeting themed: ‘Advancing women’s inclusion and representation in leadership and political process in Nigeria’ held at Ninads Event Centre in Azare.
Dr. Victoria explained that the movement does not mean to push women turn against their men, but to advocate for support and encouragement aim at promoting fairness in the distribution of devident of democracy for the overall development of the society.
She used the forum to appeal to the religious and traditional leaders to sensitise their subjects on the significance of supporting women in leadership and politics thereby bridging the wide gap their absece created.
In their seperate contributions, the representatives of the civil society organisations, religious and trditional leaders who graced the occasion, pledged to support the movement towards achieving the desired objectives.
