A prominent Islamic scholar and lecturer at Bayero University Kano, Dr. Abdulkadir Adamu Isawa, has declared his intention to contest the Bauchi North Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.Bauchi North Senatorial seat
Dr. Abdulkadir Isawa made the declaration during a stakeholders’ gathering held at the Snow White Event Centre Azare, Katagum Local Government Area.
The event drew party representatives and supporters from the seven local government areas of Bauchi North senatorial district.
In his welcome address, the PDP stalwart in Katagum Zone, Alhaji Abdullahi Mukhtar Milo, expressed strong support for Dr. Abdulkadir Isawa’s ambition, saying PDP members across the zone were united in backing his candidacy.
He described Him as a capable leader with a vision to promote the party’s ideals and contribute to national development.
Speaking at the gathering, Dr. Abdulkadir Adamu Isawa said his senatorial ambition is aimed at providing effective representation and addressing the developmental challenges confronting Bauchi North over years.
He pledged for inclusive leadership with emphasis on youth and women empowerment, education, agriculture, job creation, healthcare, security, economic growth, and rural development, and promised to use his academic experience to promote both Western and Islamic education, while attracting international partnerships and development support to the people of Bauchi State.
As part of efforts to strengthen grassroots mobilization, Dr. Abdulkadir Isawa donated one million naira to each of the seven local government areas in Bauchi North to support party activities.
