Ibrahim Muhammad Nasiru emerges overall winner of 38th Bauchi State Quranic Recitation Competition

Ibrahim Muhammad Nasiru from Shira local government area has emerged overall winner in sixty hizib with Tafsir and Qira’at in male category of the just concluded 38th edition of the Bauchi State Quranic Recitation Competition held at Kafin Madaki, Ganjuwa Local Government Area.

While Zainab Muhammad Abdulllahi from Bauchi Local Government Area came first in the male category in sixty hizib with Tafsir and Qira’at.

Declaring the competition closed Governor Bala Muhammad of Bauchi State pledged the state government’s readiness to continue to support such competition and other Islamic activities.

The Governor, represented by the Secretary to the state government Barrister Ibrahim Kashim, said the competition was aimed at instilling reading and memorizing the Glorious Qur’an perfectly, saying in previous competitions Bauchi State emerged victorious at National level and urged the contingents to maintain the tempo.

Earlier, the caretaker committee Chairman Ganjuwa Local Government Council Alhaji Muhammad Idris who was represented by his deputy Ibrahim Baba, thanked Governor Bala Mohammed for giving the local government the hosting right, saying that it is a remarkable achievement to the local government and the state at large.

Alhaji Muhammad Idris called on the contingents to put into practice what they have learnt before during and after the competition.

In a remark, the Chairman Bauchi Qur’anic Recitation Competition committee Imam Hassan Usman Zango who expressed delight for the successful completion of the competition, appealed to Governor Bala Mohammed to redeem the promise made to provide motor cycle to Arabic visiting Teachers of the 20 LGA’S.

Also speaking, the Bauchi State Commissioner of Religious Affairs and Societal Reorientation Alhaji Yakubu Ibrahim Hamza appealed to the State government to sponsor 1st and 2nd positions to represent the State at the National level.

According to report, Jama’are local government has been selected to host the 39th edition of the competition next year.

Two hundred and forty contingents participated in the competition and 12 were selected to represent the state at the National level scheduled to hold in Damaturu ,the Yobe state capital.
