FRSC Launches 2026 Road Safety Enforcement in Bauchi with 451 Personnel

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Bauchi State Sector Command, has commenced the 2026 Road Transport Safety Standardization Scheme (RTSSS) Enforcement Week, aimed at promoting compliance with road safety regulations among fleet and commercial vehicle operators across the state.

Speaking at the commencement of the exercise, the Sector Commander, RS12.1 Bauchi State Command, Corps Commander Caleb Luka, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to ensuring strict enforcement of road safety regulations to protect lives and create a safer road transport system.

According to him, the annual enforcement week, which begins on July 13, is part of the FRSC’s nationwide initiative to raise public awareness on fleet operators’ safety standards and improve compliance with road safety policies across Nigeria.

CC Luka explained that the Bauchi Sector Command has intensified public enlightenment campaigns and enforcement activities to ensure registered fleet operators fully implement the Road Transport Safety Standardization Scheme (RTSSS).

He noted that the operation will also focus on ensuring operators comply with the use of legally approved passenger manifests and other safety requirements.

He added that both Regular and Special Marshals had been adequately briefed on the operational guidelines, objectives and targeted offences to ensure a professional and effective exercise throughout the enforcement period.

To guarantee the success of the operation, CC Luka said the Command has deployed 451 Regular and Special Marshals, supported by 10 patrol vehicles, five ambulances and one tow truck strategically positioned across Bauchi State.

The Sector Commander urged fleet operators, commercial drivers and other road users to cooperate with the Corps by complying with all road safety regulations, stressing that the enforcement exercise is designed to safeguard lives and property while fostering a culture of safety on the nation’s highways.
