FOMWAN Challenged to be Ambassadors on Climate change in Nigeria

The Federation of Muslim Women’s Association in Nigeria have been challenged to be the ambassadors on climate change across the country.

The Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe made this remark at the 40th anniversary of FOMWAN event at the ongoing national conference.

Dr Hajiza Sabuwa Balarabe opined that the drought and flood being experienced all over the country is as a result of climate change where women suffer the most.

She encouraged FOMWAN leadership to be a front runner for gender policy formulations on climate resilience .

In her contribution during experience sharing, FOMWAG lead from Ghana said the Association was initiated by FOMWAN over 36 years ago under the leadership of late Aisha lemu.

She said the Association has grown from strength to strength where they now built in girls entrepreneurship training in their schools.

She hailed FOMWAN for putting them on tract and awakened them from their slumber.

In her paper Presentation showcasing FOMWAN success stories, highlighting impactful project and achievements,Hajiya Halima Jibrin reveled that FOMWAN has play a good role in promoting education where each one teach ten as strategies to wideen literacy level.

Hajiya Halima Jibrin said on the water sanitation and hygiene FOMWAN collaborate with the water is life project where forty project and over Fourty thousand people benefited and on the the women Economic empowerment many thousands of women benefited in all the states in Nigeria.
