The Emir of Katagum, Dr Umar Farouq the second, has received the Emir of Toro, Alhaji Umar Adamu, during an official visit to the Katagum Emirate, in Azare.
In his remarks, the Emir of Toro, Alhaji Umar Adamu, said there is a long-standing bond of brotherhood and historical ties between him and the Katagum Emirate.
He explained that the purpose of his visit was to strengthen this relationship and seek blessings and prayers from the Emir of Katagum.
He further stated that since his appointment as a second-class Emir, he embarked on a tour of prominent emirates to pledge allegiance and seek advice and tap from the experiences of the traditional leaders, hence he decided to spend the night in Azare, as a mark of respect.
In his response, the Emir of Katagum, Alhaji Umar Farouq the second, expressed delight over the visit and congratulated the Emir of Toro on his recent appointment.
He pledged to collaborate with him, for the development of Bauchi State and Nigeria at large.
Dr. Umar Farouq the second, disclosed that he had initially scheduled an important trip, but postponed it, upon hearing about the Emir of Toro’s visit, to honour and receive him appropriately.
He added that the doors of his palace are always open for dialogue, consultation, and cooperation, for the progress of the State.
