The Emir of Katagum, Alhaji (Dr.) Umar Farooq II, has charged traditional title holders in the emirate to continue upholding the cherished norms, values, and cultural heritage of the institution for the collective development of the area.
The Emir gave the charge while presiding over the turbaning ceremony of two new title holders — Dr. Muhammad Dada Ibrahim, who was conferred with the title of Galadiman Maganin Katagum, and Alhaji Abdulkadir Dahuwa Ibrahim, who received the title of Magajin Garin Katagum.
In his address, Alhaji Umar Farooq II traced the historical significance of the two titles, urging the new title holders to remain steadfast in their support and commitment to the growth and progress of the emirate and Bauchi State in general.
The monarch commended the immense contributions of their respective families to the advancement of Katagum Emirate and urged the honorees to justify the confidence reposed in them through loyalty, service, and dedication to the traditional institution.
The ceremony was attended by dignitaries, family members, and well-wishers, who expressed joy and appreciation, marking a memorable day for the newly turbaned title holders.
