The Caretaker Committee Chairman, Bogoro Local Government Area Mr. Markus Bitrus Lusa has raised concern over the decrease in birthrate amongst women in the area.
The Chairman express the feeling while flagging off the Immunization campaign for the month of April in local govt council.
Markus Bitrus stated that his administration is not happy with the fact that the council is far behind in terms of birthrate and that the number of birthrate has decreased drastically.
He tasked health workers in the area to wake up and discharge their responsibility in sensitizing rural women on the importance and benefit of child birth
The council chairman assured his people that his administration will not relent in safeguarding the lives of mothers and children, adding that rural women have a greater role to play in achieving a healthy society.
Earlier in a welcome remark, the Director Primary Healthcare Bogoro Local govt Godwin Hakuri announced the determination of the health department’s efforts of combating poliomyelitis and other killer diseases.
Godwin Hakuri while warning members of the public against the outbreak of measles, appealed to parents to immunize their children.
In a vote of thanks, the Village Head of Bogoro Mr Nuhu Tafida and the Supervisory Councillor for Primary Healthcare Mrs Tamar Idi charged women to prioritise immunization and antenatal services in the interest of their health.
