The State Government has commenced registration of mining operators, processors and mineral vendors to ensure safety and security of communities and their environment.
The State Commissioner, Ministry of Natural Resources Muhammad Maiwada Bello said the move is an effort to revitalize the mining sector and drive sustainable economic growth in Bauchi State.
According to him, the initiative would enable the state government generate real data of all operators, profile them on a designed database for the security and safety of mining communities, environment, and perspective investors.
The Commissioner added that, a joint taskforce comprising natural resources Ministry’s staff and representatives of BIRS, E-transact, Bauchi state house of assembly Committee on mining, local Govt administration as well as relevant security agencies will supervise & monitor the exercise to ensure total compliance.
Muhammad Maiwada Bello stated that, the exercise which commenced on 24th April 2024 will end on 2nd May 2024 at the Revenue Enforcement Unit, Ministry of Natural Resources, beside Old Dass Park Road, Bauchi, Bauchi State, from 10 am to 4 pm daily.
