Bauchi State Government to remodel ATB Studium Bauchi to attract National and International sports competitions.

Bauchi State ministry for Youths and sport Development has announced government plans in the 2025 budget to remodel the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium and other mini stadiums across the state.

The Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Alhaji Nasiru Usman disclosed this while fielding questions from newsmen after defending the ministry’s 2025 budget proposal before the state assembly committee on youths and sports development.

He said the move is part of efforts by the state government to revamp the sector of the state and by extension, attract national and international sports competitions as well as promote growth and development.

Nasiru Usman who is also the Direct Admin and human resources in the ministry, revealed that, the sports arena when upgraded to national and international standard would will enhance the performance of athletes and also promote tourism activities in Bauchi.

Meanwhile, Bauchi State Commission for Youths and Women Rehabilitation Development has announced plans to empower at least, 10,000 youths and women into various skills acquisition programme across the 3 senatorial zones of the state to better their lives.

The Executive Chairman of the Commission Alhaji Yusuf Tanko Dutse announced this in an interview with parliamentary correspondents after defending the commission’s 2025 budget proposal.

According to him, the Commission has mapped out series of educational support programmes to Bauchi Indigenes who in one way or the other failed to passed their National examination for rapid development.

He also revealed that, BACYWORD is working out modalities to rehabilitate least 500 drugs addicts in the state as part of efforts to ensure free drug society.

On his part, the Chairman state assembly committee on youths and sports development Hamza Sa’idu Jama’a said the state lawmakers would support the commission to ensure successful implementation of its policies and programmes.

On sports development, Hamza Sa’idu pledged the tenth Assembly’s readiness to support the ministry on its quest to reposition the sector.

He stated that the committee will continue discharging its constitutional responsibilities and oversight functions to find out how Ministries, Departments and agencies of government appropriated their resources for transparency and accountability.
