Bauchi State Government allocates over 70billiin naira to the health sector in the 2025 proposed budget.

Bauchi State Ministry of Health says the amount allocated to the sector in the proposed 2025 budget centered on five thematic areas of infrastructures, personnel cost, provision of Hospital consumables, Hospital equipments and Human resource for health.

The Commissioner of the Dr. Sani Muhammad Dambam stated this during the ministry’s twenty twenty five Budget defence at the state assembly complex.

To achieve this, he said the State government has proposed over 70billion naira to the state ministry of health for effective and quality health health services delivery.

According to him, parts of the Ministry’s plans is to upgrade the Bauchi State specialist Hospital to National and international Standard to compete with other sister health institutions for optimum services delivery.

He commended Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for approving more than the fifteen percent Abuja declaration budget on Heath, saying the move would improve the well-being of Bauchi citizens.

Similarly, The Executive Chairman, Bauchi State Primary Health Care Development Agency Dr. Rilwanu Muhammad says the agency will spend 7billion naira for the upgrade and renovation of 118 Primary healthcare facilities across the state.

He said the project is under the World Bank emergency support programme.

According to him, the agency has conducted national bidding for interested companies, stressing that, the best companies after the selection will be giving the go ahead to commence the work soonest.

Dr. Rilwanu Muhammad said the state government is working hard to improve health tertiary institution’s salary structure to ensure conducive teaching and learning environment.

He appreciated the state government for implementing national minimum wage to the state civil servants, which he said, Bauchi state is among the best States in the country to implement.

Responding, the chairman House committee on health Dauda Lawal advised the health Ministry, its agencies and parastatals to initiate inter agency synergy to complement government efforts in repositioning the state health sector.

He also challenged the departments, agencies and other units of the state ministry of health to sustain the culture of monitoring and evaluation as well as regular meetings to ensure transparency and accountability.
